Yesterday was our trip to the Mayan Adventure Waterpark at the Holiday Inn Elmhurst. Or as Lila's mommy and daddy call it, "Hell on Earth." No, really, it wasn't that bad. But I think, when you make a reservation on the "waterpark side" with a balcony overlooking the park, they should mention that, by the way, there will be a 6 foot loudspeaker right outside your window blaring hits from the 80's and Beach Boys, until 10 pm. And, also, it is about 97 degrees up there. But, Lila thought it was very excellent. We got there, checked in, went swimming. (Along with, by the way, about 10,000 other people.) Lila rode around the "lazy river" in an innertube with me for a while, which is actually pretty fun, but she kept getting chilly. Then we went over to the sprinkler area and played in there for a while. After dinner we went and played in the sprinkler area some more. Every 10 minutes or so, a huge bucket of water gets splashed over the top of the play structure, but Lila wouldn't go anywhere near that, she just sang her mermaid song whenever it happened. Finally we tried to go to bed, but, no one got any sleep until they turned off the music. Inside outside usa, indeed. In the morning we went back to the waterpark and lila skipped around in a circle and basically stayed in the same 5 foot radius for about an hour. I guess if you enjoy dancing in ankle deep water to duran duran this is the place for you! and, luckily, this IS Lila's idea of about the funnest thing ever. (You can splash all you want and you don't get into trouble!!!!)
